Change transformation expert and leadership coach Karan Paige got in contact with me to create and launch a website for her business Pink Horizon. The goal was to create a stand-out yet simple website that reflected her and her business. Emphasis was placed on creating a site that was professional but also warm and welcoming – a lot like Karan herself.
An initial mood board was created to decide on the site fonts, colours and general theme. Karan requested that pink and grey be used throughout. So to bring the website up to date, I created a modern pink colour with a hint of orange. This colour works with the different shades of grey, on images and as a stand out feature on the website.
The website focuses on concise and necessary content with simple but effective buttons to achieve what Karan wants her users to do: contact her, or sign up to her newsletter. Careful attention was paid to the blog aspect of the site, which Karan wanted to update regularly. The layout of this page is simple to not distract the reader, but also offers a Twitter feed and easy navigation.
After suggesting we approach the website with photographs instead of icons, Karan approached a professional photographer and got the atmospheric shots we needed to pull the website together.
Before the website launch, Karan requested that I update her logo. I chose to simplify the existing branding and update it by removing the gradient in the circle and updating it to the newly created colour – as well as updating the colour of the font.
As additional work, Karan requested various social media images to lead up to website launch, as well as social media profile images. These images included an inspirational quote, countdown to website launch, and an image created to promote a free resource from Karan.
Lastly, before the launch of this website, Karan requested a design for a free resource she wanted to offer on the site. This included a title page and styling in fitting with the website look and feel.
